The Peggy Guggenheim Collection presents Themes & Variations. Script and Space | Gastone Novelli and Venice (through January 1st), curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, and made possible by the generous support of Intrapresae Collezione Guggenheim. A dialogue between early 20th century avant-garde and contemporary artists in order to trace the evolution of forms of visual expression. Beginning with the theme of ‘script’ as found in Cubist and Futurist newspaper collages, the exhibition moves through criptic modes of expression to reach cosmic, ‘absolute’ space. On view are also works some of them rarely exhibited by Gastone Novelli.
