Acqua di Parma, a brand that embodies Italian excellence and lifestyle in the world, is the promoter of A Great Futurist Evening by actor, playwright and Italian theater director Massimiliano Finazzer Flory. This traveling performance piece will be presented in 9 cities across the United States. Acqua di Parma sponsors the events in Washington DC at the Italian Embassy on May 12th, as well as in New York on May 21st and Houston on June 3rd for the occasion of The Italian Republic Day.
On the evening of Wednesday, May 21 at 8:00pm, Lincoln Center brings Futurism to the stage with director and performer Massimiliano Finazzer Flory, original choreography by Michela Lucenti, interpretation by Sara Ippolito, costume design by Sartoria Brancato Milano, and music by Igor Stravinksy, Alfredo Casella, Francesco Cilea, and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Gabriella Scarpa, President of Acqua di Parma states, “We are proud to sponsor once again an Italian cultural event to celebrate our arts and heritage as a country. Acqua di Parma is not only a luxury fragrance brand, but is a symbol of the Italian lifestyle and supporter of the Arts. We chose Massimiliano as he is a great representative of Italian excellence, theater and culture in the world.”
In this creative performance, Finazzer Flory gives a voice to major players of the Futurist Movement such as Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and Giovanni Papini. Massimiliano Finazzer Flory asks, “Why do we want to bring Futurism to the stage? Because it is part of our [Italian] history! Theatre is life. Life is movement. Movement is Futurism”. Finazzer Flory continues, “I am utterly grateful to have Marinetti and Papini’s words take a visual form, and performed live at the historic Lincoln Center and present it to the American public.”
A Great Futurist Evening is part of Acqua di Parma’s constant commitment to the arts and Italian culture.
